ALEXANDER HEATON: TREBUCHET

(The Spear of Destiny (Dogs of War), oil on linen stretched canvas, Alexander Heaton, 2011)
We can always appreciate good art here at FLY53 HQ, whether it be graffiti, fine art or just a damn good doodle.
Our latest love is this fascinating exhibition of new paintings by Alexander Heaton taking place at The Residence Gallery, London. Alex brings painting up to date from the traditions of the romantic Scandinavian and German painters of the 18th and 19th centuries. He takes his inspiration from mountain climbing quests, which began at an early age in the Alps, through Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia. It was there that he fell in love with the light and forms that the mountains created, but also with the the mythology, stories and traditions associated with the places he stayed.
Check out the exhibition between 11th March until 10th April. (Wed-Sat 11-6, Sun 12-5).
