Ever fancied yourself as a director? Wanted to make moving images but never had the impetus to do it? Now is your chance. We have partnered with Olympus to give a set of prizes out to the best, funniest, stupidest and most interesting shorts anyone can think of.

We’re looking for video memes, and we’re not being picky. A meme is a quick and shareable video. Funny, serious, live action, animation, colorful, Black and white, dumb, random – skulls, sand, clothes, painted faces, feet, spoons – we don’t care as long as you don’t hurt anyone in making the film. We’re looking for creativity, humor, relevance and plan unadulterated brilliance.

Prizes: Three people will WIN – 1^st Prize Olympus Camera, Olympus Sound Recorder & £500 of FLY53 clothing – 2^Nd prize £200 of FLY53 clothing, 3^rd Prize £50 of FLy53 clothing – 10 runners up prizes of a FLY53 Tee-shirt.

Judging: We all sit about and we arm wrestle, debate, argue and champion the ones we think capture our brand best, and will be left with 5 finalists videos. We’ll then post these to our Facebook page and ask people to vote for the winners. Most votes win – easy.

The Rules:

1) It HAS to have the FLY53 and Olympus logos in it. That’s a no brainer. Get both from below.

2) If it’s violent, it better be comedy style. If it’s sexy, it better not be crass.

3) The video has to be between 6 – 12 seconds long only. Nothing longer than 12 or shorter than 6 will be counted, no matter how good.

4) Use whatever audio you want, but if you don’t have permission to use it, then we’re not responsible for it being pulled. Best bet, record your own music/voice on it.

How to enter: Upload your video on Youtube/Vimeo and send us a link on facebook/fly53official or alternatively upload on Vine and tweet @fly53 to let us know it’s uploaded.

Upload video before Sunday August 4th at midnight. Best videos will then be put onto our facebook for 2 weeks and the winner will be anounced after that. Simple. See an example below.

With only three weeks to go until one of the UK’s biggest and best festivals of the year featuring some of our favourite bands, it’s safe to say we’re more than a little bit excited.

To kick start your summer and share the love this week we’ve hooked up with our pals at The Great Escape and are giving away 2 x (sold out) full adult weekend tickets to the three day new music extravaganza down in Brighton.

Since being founded in 2006, The Great Escape has been firmly established internationally as the UK’s leading event for showcasing new music, with over 300 bands playing in 30 venues around the city over three days. It’s not to be missed.

We’re hopped up on Easter chocolate and sugar and have gone barmy. Some lucky FLY53 fan will win a £2,000 spending spree on the FLY53.com website! That’s like a bar tab, but with clothes and not beer, so no vomiting or hangover. The winner will be able to clothe themselves in FLY53 product for the summer and not have to worry about paying for anything. Imagine what you could do what that kind of spending power… have a look about the site and start picking the clothes you might like to buy, make a list, enter the comp and cross your fingers. Anyone can enter this competition as we will ship the winners clothes anywhere in the world.

It’s that time of year again and we’re getting geared up for an evening of terrifying ourselves with things that go bump in the night here at Fly53 HQ. To get us in the mood we’re taking a look back over some of the greatest horror movies of all time.

In another monster FLY53 Competition, we’re giving away a super hot Gibson Flying V Guitar to one of our lucky customers on the run up to Christmas. Hold up though as that’s not all. What you’ll also get is the life of that guitar. Yeah, the guitar has the type of life that a rock and roll piece of equipment should have, being thrown about by rock stars and signed by everyone we are working with.

First to fondle this American made piece of loveliness is The Eagles of Death Metal. The guys came into our showroom just the day before they jumped onstage at Reading Festival to collect some new threads and hang out. We jumped at the chance to get them to sign this beaut and they, as always, were super obliging and scribbled away.

There’s a list of plenty of other famous people that have had their hands on this guitar and they have all scrawled on it, posed with it, fondled it and played it. Each week, for 53 days, we´ll be holding a draw to win tickets to the UK’s best festivals across our 53 Days of Summer.

Heralded as the beating heart of the west country, Bristol hosts Brisfest this Summer. Bristol is more than just a cider drinkers paradise, thought it is that too. Graff, food, drinks, entertainment and music from all genres, it’s all right there in the centre of the town and it’s going to kick ass. Guaranteed.

We are offering a pair of tickets to Brisfest as part of our ’53 Days of Summer’ comp, and all you have to do is head towards our Facebook page and enter once to be in with a chance to win these and other tickets. This week we have chosen the Nottingham HoF as our retailer of the week. Located within the Victoria Centre, in the midst Robin Hood country, House of Fraser has held a concession of Fly53 gear since Fly met 53. We have our concession manager Claire Dilks to thank for all the hard work she’s put into keeping our stand performing to its full potential.

Who’s been out and smashed Rock City recently – ‘The UK’s best independent live venue and club’ now in its 30^th year of life and still holding some of the craziest sets in the country. If that’s not your perfect blend check out Nottingham’s Gatecrasher, set over 4 floors and offering everything from Big Dawg Westwood (fog hooorn) to old school 90’s classics. So get down there and party you toots off.

If you do follow our advice and head to our amazingly crafted HoF stand, heed our warning.. Watch out for Robin’s ‘merry’ men, they can be particularly brutal this time of year. Oh and get down there on thursday 31st May and friday 1st June where they will be offering 25% off all current full price stock. Check out the stand below.

Love our threads but need a bit of style advice or want to see how the gear was intended – Its time for Fly53′s product compilation of the week. This week we had a gander at our stats, chose a bunch of best sellers and had a play around with different combinations. We stopped at this peach and had to share our findings.

Our favourite hooded gilet, the Crank jacket comes in 3 colours and looks ace over our ‘really sucks’ crew. This sweat speaks to you – Join the revolution. For the lower half this week were not messing about. Our vintage washed Shieldhall trousers have taken your classic everyday jeans and punched them in the kisser. The branded leather patch on the back right waistband adds a touch of quality to these wardrobe essentials.
