Exclusive – Pete Carr from Marina & Diamonds tour diary.

We were lucky enough to get Pete from M&TD to give us a little tour diary here on the FLY53 blog. He’s the keyboard player and performer extraordinaire that’s been onstage and touring round the globe more than a few times.

Take it away Pete…

Glasgow

We rolled into Glasgow and went straight to King Tut’s for soundcheck. The other bands were arriving and the load in was down a rickety metal staircase at the back of the venue.  The one ‘in house’ crew guy looked a bit nervous…  Everyone was looking forward to the meal that King Tut’s always provide. I think it was the first square meal some of us have had all week.

The gig gets underway and halfway through 2nd band Local Natives’ set the fire alarm is triggered by the smoke machine and we all have to go stand in the street for 20 minutes – 3 fire engines!! No fire.

Everyone piled back in the venue and Local Natives finished their set with some help on stage from Nick Diamond and Al Golden Silvers playing some extra drums on the closing song.

We all went out afterwards for drinks and drunk dancing at the meat market that was the Garage and RV’d at the Diamond’s splitter van for drinks and cake at around 5am.

To sum up:

Good crowd, good gig,  good drunk dancing and good bands.
