Playing a right-handed Fender Stratocaster upside-down and left-handed Hendrix was pioneering in using electric guitar. How many others could do what he did? Amazing distortion, feedback and a host of other effects that could be articulated into a gob-smacking solo. Add in his laid back attitude to life, rejection of “things getting to heavy” and the establishment, Hendrix has to be the epitome of all things cool, original and frankly well right up our street.
