RAMS’ POCKET RADIO

R.P.R. are a new band for us (at the end of 2011) and they have plans to set the music scene alight with their onstage shows and music. One of the critical acclaim crowd, they have received plaudits from Hotpress to the BBC in their native Ireland. Lat time they visited they had lost luggage and a massive tour ahead, that’s a requirement for every band we know that’s made it before.

“RAMS’ pocket radio is Peter McCauley, a drummer, pianist, jack-of-all and songwriter. Unfettered personal expression is the impetus of the project and with the works of the 1950′s product designer, Dieter Rams, in mind – purity, simplicity and longevity are the first concerns.”

“a sense of high melodrama, piano and bass swelling up on a crest of drums and sweeping guitar… an absolutely perfect connection.”
-Steven Rainey, BBC

“Rams’ pocket radio are another brand spanking new band on our list, but when you watch the experimental outfit (which is centred around peter McCauley) you’d be forgiven for thinking they’ve been on the live circuit for years.”
- Hotpress, Hot for 2010 list

“Ram’s Pocket Radio [is] emotionally focussed, with Pete bashing out the sweet piano chords and the songs steering into some twisted destinations. They got the vote of the crowd and the judges. Keep this frequency clear.
“ Stuart Baillie, BBC Radio Ulster
