Single ladies rejoice – Valentines Day is over!
Hurrah! Valentines Day is over, done, finished! All of you singletons have another 364 days without the reminder that you’re single and alone. February 14th was definitely no fun this year, we didn’t get a card or any flowers delivered to the office and we had no boyfriend whisking us off on a romantic trip to Paris. Oh well, at least Glee was on the telly – we knew we could always count on Sue Sylvester to make us laugh, plus Puck’s back and we like him. A lot!
Whilst friends and co-workers chatted about their loved-up weekend, discussing which fancy restaurant they dined at, or what his ‘n’ hers massages they chose at the tranquil retreat/luxurious hotel they went to, we decided to keep quiet. Nobody needs to know we were slumped on the sofa Bridget Jones style – pj’s, slankett and a tub of Häagen-Daz – afraid to go out in fear of being surrounded by smug couple types whispering sweet nothings to each other.
This weekend however, it’s a whole different story! This weekend we’re painting the town red. The couples have had their day, Saturday 19th February is Singles Day (I think Hallmark have missed a trick there!) we’re heading out with the rest of the singles brigade, we plan to drink copious amounts of booze and dance to Beyoncé – Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) with more gusto than ever before.
Whilst we love a night in rocking the pj’s we’d prefer a body-con LBD any day! Plus we have no reason to wallow, it appears being single is the new black amongst the celebrities – just ask Ashley Simpson, Eva Longoria and the most famous singleton of them all, Jennifer Aniston. We betcha she’s out with her best friend Courteney Cox this weekend too.
The dress we are coveting right now is FLY53’s Victory dress (could the name be any more perfect?), it’s the ideal LBD to paint the town red in. We’ll be wearing ours with a smoky eye, tousled hair and a pair of heeled ankle boots. Don’t forget to paint the nails red! We’re loving Revlons All Fired Up the most right now.
