Scottish born, Ozzie hard rocker Bon Scott was not only one of the coolest rockers of our time but was also front man of one of the coolest bands to walk the planet AC/DC.

Their 1979 album ‘Highway to Hell’ took them to the verge of commercial explosion when sadly in February 1980 Scott died after a night out in London

The group briefly considered disbanding, but instead recruited vocalist Brian Johnson and thank fuck they did – their subsequent album, ‘Back in Black,’ was released five months later, as a tribute to Scott’s memory. It went on to become the second best-selling album in history…

This week we hooked up for 3 minutes with long term friend of the brand, the mighty, comic genius that is Batman LDN to dig the dirt on life as London’s favourite superhero and find out how the hell he makes Cat Woman Purr…

FLY53 Rumpsteak Jacket

Rumpsteak Jackets GOld

The contrasting block colors are a nod to our love for the Britpop era which emerged from the British independent music scene in the early Nineties. The movement saw bands like; Oasis, Pulp, Supergrass and The Verve take British guitar music of the 60s and 70s and reinvent it. Referencing uniquely British topics and concerns they proudly re-established their dominance of the music scene.

In much the same way the Fly53 Rumpsteak takes its inspiration from vintage windbreaker jackets of days gone by, styling itself upon them but adding a new more contemporary edge.

Lightweight, durable, and most importantly remaining practical while refusing to compromise on style the Rumpsteak is perfect for all seasons and a wardrobe staple.

FLY53 have crossed paths with 2013 NME Radar Winner The Child of Lov to bring an exclusive collaboration to the market. TCOL has been heating up the airwaves with his white hot new album featuring Damon Albarn and MF Doom amongst others, penned for release in April.

To celebrate FLY53 has teamed up with TCOL to provide his new single launch party with exclusive VIP tees on the night, as well as exclusive signed posters for the people that are lucky enough to attend. The single is entitled ‘FLY’ so we jumped aboard in a heartbeat.

If you didn’t get to the launch event we have released an exclusive, limited edition Graphic T-Shirt available to buy now at www.FLY53.com. These are strictly limited to 100 and will not be repeated again. They showcase the images we worked on with T.C.O.L. and his own logo, in our style. This is a chance to own a slice of history and not to be missed.

Mick Karn, was a British multi-instrumentalist musician and songwriter, who rose to fame as the bassist for the art rock/New Wave band Japan in 1974.

Essentially a self-taught musician, his first musical instrument was a bassoon, with which he attended and passed an LSSO audition. After it was stolen from him, he purchased a bass guitar for 5 golden nuggets and joined up with pal David Batt, (acoustic guitarist) to begin forming the legendary Japan.

Within the band his talents spread a little further than just bass, he learnt and played all the wind instruments, including the saxophone; on ‘Tin Drum,’ he played the Chinese suona.

But Karn’s fretless bass guitar playing, (an unusual instrument in modern popular music) produces a distinctive sound and playing style, which makes his playing immediately recognisable no matter where you are in the world.

A sorely missed musical legend. Long may his sounds live on.
