Fly53′s good friends ‘Is Tropical’ are currently ripping it up on a worldwide tour, hitting North and South America, Europe and the Far East. Its cool to see them finally getting the recognition they deserve, developing a massive reputation for their impressive live shows, we knew it would eventually kick off.
Even during their biggest ever tour ‘Is Tropical’ have taken the time out for us to answer a few questions.
You are off on tour soon, what/where are you looking forward to the most?
Got to be New York City, we’ve never played there but have a lot of friends living there so should be a party. Being on the road can be quite relaxing… but then there’s the constant cycle of hung over, play show, get drunk and the back to hung over.
We always ask for tour bus shenanigans. There must be a good story?
Just downloaded worms on the computer, an old game from childhood. It has now taken over all tour bus shenanigans.
Do you still squat or has making it in the industry turned you into a group of big softies?
Big softies. We went away on our second tour and got back to our shit thrown out on the streets and no house. It just got too hard to keep a house secure.

Beyonce! but only to get close to Jay-z’s arse.
Which song off the new album do you like playing the most and why?
What??? It was a song that had no direction planed and became something we would have never guessed.
Ever wish anyone would ask you a question, but no one has asked it? Give us the answer but not the question.
Sometimes we have that question “What’s your favorite question?” But we always forget the good ones, like how you forget jokes. ‘Whats your love making musical play list?’ was a good one.
Have you got any shit for inciting violence/riots because you cover your faces in pictures? Must be gutted they all followed your lead and gave it a bad name…
What pricks. It was all a kind of graffiti thing taken from photos in train yards. And we have a few big fans that have been spraying ‘IS TROPICAL’ on the streets of there local cities.
Last question, promise. Thanks to anyone that’s helped you out on the way?
We give our manager, Paul Resende, a lot of shit but he works real hard. All the bands that have taken us away with them. Our booking agent, Giovanna, Mat Willis, Macbeth, Catch… probably forgot a few here, but the rest are on our album.
