HOSPITALITY IN THE ALPS
FLY53 took a break from the office recently and took a trip out to Val Thorens, France to throw some shapes and catch some air. Our friends at Okoru also had their FLY53 supported ‘Hospitality’ night whilst we were out there. Not only did Okoru bring out an all star dnb line-up to Val T, they also peppered these performances with the likes of 3x DMC World Champion DJ Switch and 2x UK Beatbox Champion Reeps One!
With 1,500 ski seasonnaires and students inside the biggest club in the alps, this one was always going to be big! The night was opened up by Okoru’s resident DJ’s 2ManyFrontMen. Now gaining huge support for their sound internationally and a heavy summer schedule coming together with shows in Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria and Ibiza, these guys are ones to watch! Followed up by DJ Switch’s turntablism madness and a beatbox battle from host Bass6 and UK Champ Reeps One.
By this time the crowd were nicely warmed up and it was time for the one and only Danny Byrd. With his recent hit single ‘Ill Behaviour’ smashing into the Uk Top 40 chart, he really is at the forefront of dnb right now. His current album ‘Rave Digger’ is out on Hospital Records and is gaining huge support spanning many genres. Danny, with front man MC Wrec, electrified the crowd with heavy basslines and soulful vocals. This paved the way for Cyantific to bring the tech to the party, weaving highs and lows, keeping the crowd on their toes. Nutone then stepped up to the plate to finish the evening off in style! Great night, horrible hangover!
