FLY53 don’t tell you how to wear your gear…just what to wear. Our Collections are not defined by their Specific names and this Look shows how diverse the AW10 collections really are…

FLY53′S AW10 Armageddon collection is one of the most versatile ranges we have ever produced. The very name of the collection conjures up militaristic images, and although there are pieces that define this very word (such as the’Ebony Bone Leather Jacket’ and the ‘Outsider Polo’) the collection as a whole is a lot more than just military attire.

The look shown takes some of the pieces from the Armageddon Collection and wears them in a different way. Legendary Photographer Gavin Watson Has Two Cameras stolen in East London

Reward Offered for Safe Return of Cameras

Clothing brand FLY53 has today announced a £1000 clothing reward for the safe return of camera equipment stolen from legendary photographer Gavin Watson at a photoshoot in East London.

The incident happened on the 19/08/10 as Watson was between shoots with Tim Burgess of The Charlatans and the bands Pulled Apart by Horses when an unidentified man stole 2 cameras from his bag, from under his table in a hotel reception near Old Street. The hotel staff hold clear footage of the man stealing the cameras on CCTV.

The cameras contained undeveloped films from a previous shoot with Shingai Shoniwa and Dan Smith from the Noisettes. FLY53 are now offering £1000 worth of their clothing for the safe return of these cameras and the film inside as the pictures form the basis of their AW10 campaign imagery, which centres around the collaboration of music and fashion and the label’s roots in music.

FLY53 @ Reading Festival

Reading highlights…

So, some things never change about Reading Festival….Mud, girls with their boobies out, an over hyped band on the line-up and obviously some amazing bands. Axl Rose not surprisingly was over an hour late onto stage with his band, moonlighting as Guns ‘n’ Roses, and then proceeded to be shit…to a crowd of boo’s….the guitarist even tried to dress and act like slash?!

Sunday was as usual the most anticipated day, especially with reformed Blink 182 closing the night, but in our opinion the show stealers showed up before the closing of the night. The two best bands of the entire weekend were Limp Bizkit and Weezer for these reasons. Everyone jokes about Limp Bizkit and Fred Durst in particular….but it went OFF when they came onstage, and songs such as ‘Nookie’ and Break stuff had the place going absolutely mental, especially as they had sorted the sound on the main stage for the last day.

Weezer were simply amazing. FLY53 were over to the right of the stage, and luckily for us, frontman Rivers Cuomo (what an awesome name) took a shine to our side…and it felt like he was performing just to us:

Their whole set sounded amazing, and the antics of the Rivers topped it off, from riding a light, to covering Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker face‘ with a wig on,writhing in the mud and hugging the crowd…amazing!

There was a little wait through Paramore until Blink 182 came on (FLY53 chose not to get involved with the hoards of screaming girls to watch Paramore) but it was worth it to see the reformed band back again. It seemed at times Tom Delonge forgot the words, and liked to talk through the entire set but hearing classics such as ‘First Date’ and ‘Rock Show’ made it all worth it. The highlight was Travis’s EPIC drum solo in the encore, on a rotating platform that went upside down…it was literally boner worthy!!

All in all a good performance, but after Weezer and the amazing frontman performance by Rivers, it was hard for anyone to top…even the mighty Blink 182…
