Anarchist Art…
One look at photographer/film maker Niall O’Brien’s film ’superheroes’ and you will think you have travelled to the mid 70’s when punk was the sound of the U.S and UK music scene. There’s clearly something special about the way O’Brien works, the very feel of Superheroes is incredibly grainy and authentic with the dedication and total immersion in the film even more impressive. Initially a Dublin native, the now London based O’Brien has spent the last four years gaining the trust of a young punk gang called K.B.C (Kingston Brew Crew) who initially thought he was a paedo!
The accompanying image series is refreshingly different, as with all his work it is gritty as hell, and really captures the spontaneity of youth. The full series of images entitled ‘Good Rats’ is available on O’Briens personal website, and we think they are well worth checking out.
