SONS AND DAUGHTERS AT ATP
22 Sep 2006 09:18
As a last minute replacement for Red House Painters' Mark Koselek, Sons & Daughters inject some rock 'n roll into a relatively laid back Sunday.
Adele Bethel smiles demonically, teeth flashing through rouged lips, while Scott Paterson stares and gnashes his molars as he thrashes at his guitar. With his unkempt hair and patchy stubble he looks almost feral.
'Johnny Cash' is the highlight of course, but the new songs unleashed tonight indicate the band is tapping further into that rich seam of dark and sexy roots punk, in an ecstatic, howling mess of scything guitars, driving rhythms and Stones ‘woo-woos’.
Check out All Tomorrows Parties for this December's line up.
